Join Us For Discussion Following "Hitler's Children"

Hitler's Children is a powerful documentary  featuring interviews from descendants of high-ranking Nazis including Himmler, Frank, and Goring. The interviewees discuss how they struggle with the burden of their family legacy and what they do to help prevent similar from reoccurring in the future. “Hitler’s Children” debuted on Israeli TV – Channel 2 on the eve of Holocaust Memorial Day 2011. The topics addressed in this film are chilling,  thought provoking and sometimes inspiring. The Crossroads International Film Festival is showing the film Hitler's Children on February 9 at 6:30 pm and February 16 at 4:00 pm. Admission is $6 per ticket, and all screenings are at the Darkside Cinema in downtown Corvallis, Oregon. Following each screening of Hitler's Children, we are hosting a discussion to process the issues, thoughts and insights relating to this documentary and it's relevance today.

Join OSU professor and Holocaust Memorial Committee chair Paul Kopperman for a discussion of the issues and insights this film inspires. Kopperman, a professor of history, has taught at Oregon State University since 1978.  Among his offerings is “The Holocaust in Its History,” a baccalaureate-core course that is available online as well as on the Oregon State campus.  He has been a member of the Holocaust Memorial Committee since its establishment in 1987 and has served as chair since 1994.  In association with the committee, he has been involved in organizing each of the 28 annual observances of Holocaust Memorial Week on the Oregon State University campus and in the Corvallis community.
